Vail is known for the amazing ski slopes and proximity to the airport, but thanks to the $1 billion renovation known as Vail’s New Dawn, Vail is beginning to get known for luxury and a new standard in premier travel and living.
Baby boomers, retirees and even young families are seeking a quiet, slower pace of life and vacationing and with all the new development and renovations, Vail is becoming very attractive. Some of the developments which sold out very quickly included Gore Creek Place, the Lodge at Vail Chalets and the Arrabelle.
Fractional ownership is considered one of the hot properties investments currently in Vail and two of those are right in the heart of Vail Village. Solaris is located at the site of the old Crossroads Mall and the Vail Plaza club is down the street across from the sight of the upcoming Four Seasons Resort. Solaris has already sold 70% of the 77 whole ownership units and 19 went to a fractional ownership group. The Vail plaza club offers ownership starting at $100,000 for two weeks. This building is beautiful and since it is right next door to our real estate office I’d say it is a great location. I guess having the Four Seasons whole ownership and fractional ownership across the street helps speak to the location. Fractional living is giving those that want a taste of an area with all the amenities of a hotel stay without the heftier price tag of whole ownership.
Several new condominium projects have encouraged older existing buildings to give new life to them as well. One of the major architects responsible for updating several buildings is Fritzlen Pierce Architects. One of the larger projects they are working on is the Landmark Building located in Lionshead. The renovation will include 15 new units, new lobby and new commercial and real estate space. The Towers another remodel with a new separate tower has drawn buyers looking for new and a good location.
Of course the current crown jewel of Lionshead is the Arrabelle which opened its hotel section this winter with delivery of the full ownership condos staged to be delivered between now and April. The stunning Five Star hotel/condo set the bar really high for the new standard in Lionshead for luxury. We have two listings at this resort within a resort that is a just steps away from the gondola. Two 3 bedroom residences with East facing and views to the mountain are considered an excellent buy at $4,150,050 and $3,995,000 when compared to what amenities and the location that the other projects offer at close to the same price.
So if it has been a while since you have been to Vail or if you have never gotten to visit this amazing place, now is a great time, the snow is fantastic and the opportunities for either visiting or ownership are amazing as well.
