Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival
By The Bartlett Group

When you own a second home in Vail, Colorado, your family will anticipate the outdoor events at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival.  There’s something about sitting out on the grass at the amphitheater with tens of thousands of sun-kissed faces listening to high-altitude symphonies.  The harmonics move with the breezes through the aspen trees, comforting toddlers and grandparents alike—more reason to host the family reunion in your Vail CO real estate.

Ask about our Vail properties on Forest Road and at Arrabelle at Vail Square.  Even if you buy further out in Eagle CO real estate, or a beautiful condominium in Beaver Creek or Bachelor Gulch real estate, the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival will be up there on your list of not-to-be-missed events in the area.

During 2007, the touring Rochester Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic enjoyed performing old favorites for smitten fans.  Imagine life a couple of hundred years ago before canned music became an option.  Beethoven’s 5th and 7th Symphonies, Dvorak’s 9th Symphony, Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, and Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance sent waves of harmonics through the crowd.  Over 40 acclaimed soloists and chamber musicians made the event’s 20th anniversary special.

Splashes of other fun performances dot the schedule.  Fantastic dancers, chamber music, and a night of Broadway pops and a tribute to jazz greats Louis Armstrong and Fats Weller pulled on the heartstrings of the audiences.  In 2008, the Columbus Jazz Orchestra will join the incredible artist roster.

Like many of Vail’s favorite pastimes, the Bravo!  When Attorney John Giovando and violinist Ida Kavafian came to the Valley in 1987, they brought their idea of a music festival with them from New Mexico.  After twenty years of performances, the Bravo! Has grown from a handful to over 60,000 participants and is now one of the most popular events in town.  The schedule spans seven weeks from late June to early August.

If you doubt that your post-boom generations will appreciate non-rock music, look again.  Bach on the Rocks is an organization geared to introducing audience members in the 25-45 year old generations to classical music through the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival.

Bach on the Rocks also serves to promote a vibrant young professional community through various social networking events in the Vail Valley as well as create leadership opportunities for these young professionals.
A Bach on the Rocks membership includes General Admission to all paid Bravo! Festival concerts, $10 off a bottle of wine, advanced invitation to Bach on the Rocks Soirée, free or discounted entry to all Bach on the Rocks social events throughout the year, networking opportunities with other young people in community, and a seasonal e-mail newsletter of Festival events.

Other boons to the success of the classical music event the Music Mettlers educational programs, Club Bravo, Teen Bravo, and Patron events.
