Vail resorts has it all and sometimes that is two much. This year, Vail resorts was voted number two sliding down from the number one position it has held for the last several years. Vail’s enormous size, encompassing 5289 acres and 33 lifts draws to it vast numbers of people. Vail is so large that Jackson Hole would alone take up the area known as the Back Bowls. While during certain times of the year, it can average four skiers per acre, the fact that it has over 5000 acres means that there is plenty of area to contain all those snow hounds. This year, Vail has replaced two of its lift with high-speed quad lifts which should bring more skiers to the back bowls including Vail’s famous Blue Sky Basin.
On top of upgrading some of its lift, Vail has been upgrading the town opening some amazing luxury properties including the Arrabelle which is schedule to open this winter season. Vail also boasts some great Après skiing where you can literally pop out of your skis and walk into the Red Lion or Los Amigos. While some people choose to search out skiing with fewer crowds, the majority continues to come to the greatest snow in North America, Vail Colorado.
