When shopping for the perfect ski real estate in Vail, Colorado, plan something special for each person in the entire family. Let the kids choose to go to camp in the Rocky Mountains. While your children frolic in the fun of attending camp, the staff at AllVailListings.com will show you the best Vail real estate available that is suited to your family’s needs.
At camp, the kids will make friends, learn skills, and can submerge themselves into the magnificent environment around the village near Vail CO homes. Pinecone by pinecone, one wildflower at a time, they will discover why you want a primary or second home in Vail Valley. They could choose to attend a ski intensive, explore the Glenwood Caverns, camp overnight and go rafting. Possibly one child would prefer whispering to a special horse and another simply wants to learn baseball or volleyball with a coach from Colorado State University. Whatever they choose, the experience will be refreshing and invigorating.
There are camps specializing in sports, recreation, wilderness experiences, the three Rs, ecology and nature with top-rated programs and talented staff that are making a positive impact on the lives of children. Some programs run one or two weeks a year, others are one day a week, and still others may be one-time opportunities.
Beginning with a long list of programs offered by the Vail Recreation District, we would highlight some of the options in town. Sports camps in the summer include Rocky Mountain Volleyball Camp, Rocky Mountain Baseball Camp, Back 2 Basics All-Star Basketball Academy, Major League Soccer Camp, Skyhawks Lacrosse Camp, and for the little ones a Mini-Hawk Sports Training Camp that explores soccer, baseball, and basketball—all for fun—during a day camp.
For the adventure minded, they also offer Extreme Camp Vail for ages 8 to 13 on Fridays during the summer. Outings include climbing and bouldering, rafting, water world, tubing, caving, and Elitch Gardens. Camp Eco Fun by the Vail nature Center is a unique 2-day per week camp that encourages participants to explore ecology with naturalists from the Gore range Natural Science School. The new Eagle Explorer Junior Naturalist program hosted by the Nature Center, Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, Colorado Ski Museum, Gore Rangers, and the U.S. Forest Service. It is part of The Learning Camp adventures where children with disabilities can practice the three Rs on a 35-acre ranch with a pond, horses, hiking trails, and mountain vistas.
Vail Golf School, situated high in the mountains, is simply the best place for up and coming golfers to master the concentration skills necessary. The Stars of Tomorrow Youth Ski Camp is, of course, a popular way for children to develop the correct habits and lifetime skills needed to really explore and enjoy the slopes.
The Leading Edge program for older teens is an immersion into the wilderness for nine days. It includes hiking on and off trails, camping, climbing a 14,000-foot mountain, learning leadership skills, receiving feedback and opportunities to improve skills—all tutored by an expert staff who love the pristine wilderness.
