Vail Colorado’s neighboring town of Avon gets facelift with the Riverfront Village

The Westin Riverfront Village has been kicking off a $500 million renaissance of Avon Colorado, a small town just at the foot of Beaver Creek and about 10 minutes from Vail.   Around the Westin, which is schedule to open in the summer of 2008, will be two Starwood Vacation interval ownership properties that  will have 113 two bedroom units, which will operate under the Westin and provide full access to the amenities.  On one side of these properties will be a new Riverfront lodge with 75 whole ownership condos and adjacent to this will be another 26 condos and townhouses.  A new trend in the industry is Hotels giving their name and their management services to rooms or condos owned by the invididual and the Westin is following that trend.  Some other developments that follow this model are the Four Seasons and the Ritz Carlton both scheduled to open in Vail.

On top of this great new village will be restaurant and shops but most impressive is perhaps the new Riverfront gondola which will enable people to go directly from the Riverfront Village up to the mountain of Beaver Creek which is scheduled to open soon.
