Vail Colorado Residents Are Very Charitable

There is the old saying what goes around comes around.  In Vail, that holds true as the wealthy who have gotten so much believe that this kharma holds true and they give back a lot, especially during the holidays.

Vail residents are one of the most generous in the country and out of 400 cities in Colorado. Vail is the most giving with an average given to charity is $15,500.  Ski Resort towns are very giving, being in the top 5 of the 400 cities, but even Aspen which is famous for it’s celebrity residents, averages 4 percent of their incomes.  What is the reason for this, some people say it is because the snow is so great and people are generally very happy here.

Vail residents and second home owners really want to support their community.  On average they donate 6.65 percent of their income which is double compared to the rest of Colorado.  Out of the top 5 towns and cities in all of Colorado, Vail is number one and the small town of Avon Colorado, a small town 10 minutes outside of Vail which has traditionally been home to workers, was number 4 of all towns and cities in Colorado, giving an average of 5.3 percent of their incomes.
